Synopsis

The story is of a newly wed girl, who feels unable to leave her home, after her husband had suddenly left. Yielding to the idea she will stay indoors forever, one day, not knowing where it came from, she finds a dying rose laying on her bed. It is a reminder of her past life, and with it returns a flush of memories of a happier time she would spend outdoors, planting roses. When she picks up the rose, it begins to fall apart, and the petals fly out the window. As petals lead her outdoors, she feels set free from her prison-home, and able to find happiness in the world again.

Based on a short story written by Jane Livingstone.
